Because there is competition among registrars you should be able to register a domain name for $15/year or less.
For example, Discount Domain Registry charges $14.99/year for a single domain and even less for bulk registrations. You can register .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .ca, .co.uk, .org.uk, .cc, .de and .cn
domain names starting at $14.99 per year.
 GoDaddy -- Go Daddy ranked #1 among all registrars in net new domain name registrations for the year 2002. Very inexpensive for new domains and for transfers.
They achieved their leading position by price competition with prices starting at $8.95/year
However, if you need to manage multiple domains you will find that eNameCo is easier to use:

-year registrations their rates go much lower. The last time we checked they offered:
- 1 year -- $16.99/yr
- 5 years -- $13.99/yr
- 10 years -- $12.99/yr
If you already have a domain registered with another registrar, you can transfer your
domain name to godaddy or eNameCo and get an extension of the time on your registration at these same rates. eNameCo is not the least expensive, but they provide
great tools and free domain parking.
